Growing up I've always found myself involved in different pursuits and am fortunate to have a natural curiosity and drive to push my performance within these pursuits to a higher level. This fostering of an attitude focused on lifelong learning has been a central part of what it means to me to live a life of wisdom, growth, and flourishing.
Though I pursued art from a young age and naturally excelled at it, it wasn't until recently in my 30's that I began to truly consider myself an artist. The catalyst for this change came from the desire to engage with the world more meaningfully in my own way, through curiosity and action, and to utilize these experiences to reflect and create.
Basically, this means I really enjoy going out with my camera, gathering reference materials, and utilizing those materials to create artworks that resonate with people and are energized from my personal experience.
For me, this is another path to growing as a person, and I truly find joy in the pursuit of making my artworks themselves more engaging, through the improvement of materials, techniques, composition, or subject matter.
